Challenge
When the Bankses took on Sutherland House, they were faced with a massive renovation project and only four months in which to undertake it. The website, a fundamental part of any venue's marketing, would have to launch in phases, with photography and information being grabbed on an ad hoc basis amongst builders, fabric swatches, staff interviews and menu tastings. Yet from the start it, like the restaurant itself, needed to be slick, gorgeous and polished.Process
A holding page went up immediately, ensuring visitors had an immediate sense of this old building's new beginnings. The second phase of the site went live on launch day, with a tempting array of sumptuous photography, strong colours, menus and wine lists and inspiring copy. When the four boutique rooms launch in April, the third and final phase of the site will go live too. The Flexisite system allows whole menu items to be switched on and off at will, without any negative impact on the design or the need for pages which declare, half-heartedly, 'under construction'.Result
The website has proved immensely popular from day one, and regular comments are received about it. As a means of communicating the quality of Sutherland House, the site proves invaluable and really pulls in the bookings.Weblink: www.sutherlandhouse.co.uk
